24-Hour HazMat Technician

Location: STEP Training Center | Time: 8:00am - 4:00pm | Duration: 24 Hours 
 
HazMat Technician Level training is required by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120(q) for individuals who respond to releases of hazardous substances for the purpose of stopping and containing the release. This course is three full days of hands-on, interactive emergency drills that simulate situations that may occur in an industrial facility, as well as classroom discussion.
 
PLEASE NOTE: Participants must sign a statement asserting that they are medically approved to suit-up during hands-on drills and workshops.
 
The objectives of this training session include:
Understanding hazardous material markings
Knowing how to use the Emergency Guide
Understanding the types of monitors used when there is a chemical release
Understanding the use of the Incident Command System (ICS)
Understanding your role as an emergency responder
Gaining the ability to respond in required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
