Our History
Safety Training & Environmental Protection, LLC (STEP) is an environmental safety and health training and consulting organization that was originally formed in 1985 under the name Saf-Tox Associates. For over 30 years STEP consultants have assisted general and construction industries with regulatory compliance.
Our company began as a hands-on regulatory training company and has expanded to offer program development, procedure writing, compliance audits, training program development, train-the-trainer programs, industrial hygiene, and customized workshops for our clients in many different industries.
As our company evolved to include these different services, our name has also evolved over the years. The name was changed and incorporated under Safety & Environmental Training, Incorporated (SETI) in 1994. The company moved into its current location at 1205 Center Drive, Murray, KY in December 1996, and during the fall of 2003, SETI was dissolved and a new company, Safety Training & Environmental Protection, LLC (STEP) was begun to better reflect our services and client needs.
