Portable Fire Extinguisher Training

Did you know that according to OSHA each year in the U.S., 70,000-80,000

workplaces experience a serious fire, and that about 200 employees per year die in

these fires and another 5000 are injured? According to the National Fire Protection

Association (NFPA), in 2017 a fire department responded to a distress call every 24

seconds. The losses from these fires totaled approximately $31 billion in property

damage. Having employees that are correctly trained in fire prevention and fire

combat may be the factor that prevents losing your business and fellow coworkers.

STEP has devised the following courses in order to better educate and train your

employees on fore prevention and combating fires in occupational settings: 1-hr

and 2-hr portable fire extinguisher. These courses will contain the following specific information and skill sets:

  • Classes of Fuels and Fires

  • Purposes for Fire Extinguishers

  • Types of Fire Extinguishers

  • PASS Methodology

  • Fire Requirements

  • Hands-On Fire Fighting

Each of these training courses includes a variant of hands-on experience. These courses may be completed onsite at your facility or at an offsite location of your choosing.
