When Fall rolls around, there is always a sense of excitement for the activities that come along with the season. Getting to experience the beauty of the fall harvest is an additional perk we get here in Kentucky. As we all start to wind down and enjoy the simpler things such as bonfires, hot cocoa, and corn mazes, the farmers in our life are buckling down for one of their busiest seasons.
Farmers are an essential part of everyday life. The products, produce, and livestock they provide are invaluable to our community and so are their lives! Based on 2018 data for the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Fall is also one of the most dangerous seasons of the year for the Agriculture Industry. For this year’s National Farm Safety & Health Week, the motto is “Every Farmer Counts”.
Let’s all take part in increasing our knowledge on farm safety and help encourage those we love in the agricultural industry to take the extra steps in order to stay safe. There is an endless amount of information that can be found on the National Education Center for Agricultural Safety website and for National Farm Safety & Health Week, they are providing free farm safety awareness webinars every day! Participate in one today and share your knowledge! Safety matters and every farmer counts!
